Covid Positive Man from Punjab Found Hanging in Tripura

The deceased has been identified as Balbinder Singh and he hailed from Punjab's Pathankot. He was accompanied by another man going by the name of Tarsem Singh.

AGARTALA: A 33-year-old truck driver from Punjab was found hanging to death after he tested positive for Covid in a Corona waiting centre in North Tripura.

The deceased has been identified as Balbinder Singh and he hailed from Punjab's Pathankot. He was accompanied by another driver going by the name of Tarsem Singh.

Both the drivers took off from Pathankot and were on their way to Tripura where they were made to stop at the Churaibari check gate for the compulsory COVID-19 test for the outsiders entering the state.

Balbinder turned positive for Covid-19 while his companion tested negative. As a result, he was sent by the health workers to a designated room before sending him to a quarantine centre at Panisagar.

 A medical team reached to take Balbinder to the COVID-19 quarantine centre only to find his body hanging from a window.

A police team of Churaibari police station immediately rushed to the spot on being alerted and recovered the body by following the Covid protocols.

The dead body had been taken to the District Hospital at Dharmanagar for autopsy. The body of the deceased will be handed over to his family after conducting a post-mortem.
